In DC motors, at the point where the electric current is supplied to their rotating part, two heat sinks (also called brushes or carbons) are used.
Over time, due to friction, the heatsinks wear out and must be replaced.
For this reason, brushless electric motors have been developed in recent years and are far superior to a brushed motor.
